Frequently asked questions
Is it free to post an ad on Oksalo?
Yes. Posting is free, browsing is free, and Oksalo takes no commission when something sells.
Do buyers see my phone number?
No. Buyers message you through Oksalo, and your phone number and email are never shown on a listing. You decide whether to share contact details in the conversation.
How do I get more replies on my listing?
Take photos in daylight against a plain background, show any damage rather than hiding it, write an honest description, and fill in the category details — buyers filter on year, kilometres, BHK and the like, so a listing without them is invisible to those searches.
How should I price something?
Search for the same item on Oksalo and see what comparable listings ask. Price near the middle if you want a quick sale, and say whether the price is negotiable.
Can I edit or pause a listing after posting?
Yes. Open My listings, where you can edit the details, pause it while you are away, mark it sold, or delete it.
What can I not sell on Oksalo?
Anything illegal, counterfeit goods, weapons, drugs, live animals for sale in restricted categories, adult content, and anything you do not own or have the right to sell. Listings that break these rules are removed.
How do I know a seller is genuine?
Look for a verified phone number, a rating, and how many listings they have. Ask questions in chat and see how they answer. Above all, inspect the item in person before paying.
What do I do if I am scammed or see a fake listing?
Report the listing or user from the page. Reports go to the moderation team. If money has changed hands, report it to your bank and to cybercrime.gov.in as well.
