Details you can filter on
Every category asks for the things that decide a purchase — a car’s year, kilometres, fuel and owners; a flat’s BHK, carpet area and furnishing. They become filters, not a paragraph you have to read and re-read.
About Oksalo
Oksalo is an Indian marketplace for buying and selling used cars, bikes, property, phones, electronics and furniture. We are building it around the part everybody finds hard — not finding listings, but working out which one to actually buy.
Most things we own are used for a fraction of their life and then sit in a cupboard. Moving them on ought to be easy. In practice, anyone who has tried to buy a used car or a second phone knows how it really goes.
You open twelve listings that look identical. The one detail that would settle it — how many owners, whether the carpet area is what they mean by area, whether that price moved last week — is missing, or buried in a paragraph, or simply not comparable with the listing in the next tab.
So you guess. Oksalo is our attempt to make the guessing unnecessary.
The same two cars, lined up
Highlighted rows are the ones that differ — the only ones worth reading. Every category on Oksalo lines up this way.
A classifieds board helps you look. We would rather help you decide. Four things follow from that, and they shape most of the product.

Describe what you are after once and save it. The moment somebody posts something that matches, you hear about it — instead of refreshing the same search for a fortnight.
When a seller drops their price, the listing says so and by how much. You can tell an ad that has just appeared from one that has been sitting unsold for a month.
Put two or three candidates side by side and every field lines up, with the rows that actually differ marked. The comparison people do badly on paper, done properly.
Written plainly on purpose, so you can hold us to them.
Posting costs nothing and we take no cut of what you sell. The price you agree is the price you get.
Phone numbers and email addresses are never printed on a listing. Buyers and sellers talk through Oksalo until they choose otherwise.
No auctions, no bidding wars, no algorithm setting your price. Two people agree a number and meet.
Nearly every second-hand sale ends with two people in the same place, so location is a first-class filter rather than a line of small print.
Oksalo is early, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. The site is open across India and grows city by city, category by category, as people list in them. If the thing you want is not here yet, save the search — you will hear the moment it is.
Built in India, for the way India actually buys and sells.
Posting takes about a minute, costs nothing, and we take no commission when it sells. Add the details buyers filter on and the right person finds you instead of the other way round.
